![]() Enwyd amrediad blaslaeth organig Daioni a gynhyrchir gan Trioni Cyf yn ddiod orau i blant yn y gwobrau Rhagoriaeth mewn Bwyd a gynhelir gan gylchgrawn The Caterer and Hotelkeeper. Mae’r gwobrau blynyddol yn cydnabod rhagoriaeth mewn cynnyrch a anelwyd at y diwydiant gwasanaeth bwyd a chânt eu beirniadu gan chefs a beirniaid bwyd blaenllaw. Mae’r categori plant 3663 a noddir hefyd yn cael ei feirniadu gan banel iau oedd yn frwdfrydig am Daioni siocled gan ddweud ei fod ganddo “flas neis, yn drwchus a llawn swigod”. Datblygwyd amrediad diodydd blaslaeth Daioni gan gwmni Trioni o Sir Benfro yn lle’r diodydd pop llawn siwgr sydd ar gael fel arfer i blant, ac fe’u lansiwyd yn 2003. “Rydym yn arbennig o falch i ennill y wobr hon gan y cynlluniwyd Daioni ar gyfer plant ac felly mae cael ein dewis gan y beirniaid ifanc yn golygu ein bod wedi cyflawni ein nod,” meddai Laurence Harris, cyd-sefydlydd a rheolydd gyfarwyddwr Trioni. “Cynhaliwyd ein treialon blasu cyntaf mewn ysgolion yn Sir Benfro, ac felly rydym wedi dod y cylch llawn,” meddai Teleri Thomas, Rheolwr Marchnata Trioni a dderbyniodd y wobr gan y chef enwog Aldo Zilli yn y seremoni wobrwyo a gynhaliwyd yng Ngwesty’r Dorchester yn Llundain (23 Tachwedd). Yn isel mewn braster heb unrhyw liwiau artiffisial neu gadwolion, mae’r diodydd ar gael mewn pedwar blas – siocled, mefus, banana, a llugaeron a mafon cochion. Bu’n flwyddyn dda i’r busnes teuluol. Enillodd fedal aur yng Ngwobrau Gwir Flas 2007 a bu’n llwyddiannus yn ddiweddar yn ei gynnig i gael ei gynnwys yn y contract fframwaith ar gyfer Consortiwm Pwrcasu Cymru - sy’n trin caffaeliad ar gyfer awdurdodau unedol ledled De Cymru – a bydd Daioni ar gael mewn ysgolion yn Abertawe a Chastell-nedd Port Talbot, gyda’r posibilrwydd o gael ei ddefnyddio gan bob un o’r 12 cyngor. Bu’r cwmni, sydd hefyd wedi ennill gwobr Gwir Flas, yn y BBC Good Food Show yn Birmingham yr wythnos ddiwethaf fel rhan o Stondin Gwir Flas Llywodraeth Cynulliad Cymru lle gwerthwyd y diodydd i filoedd o ymwelwyr. “Mae ennill unrhyw wobr yn wych i’n cwmni gan ei fod yn gadarnhad annibynnol o’n cynnyrch,” meddai Teleri. Mae’r cwmni wedi derbyn amrywiaeth o gymorth ac mae’n cymryd rhan yng nghynllun Marchnata Gwir Fwyd, a gefnogir gan Lywodraeth Cynulliad Cymru. ![]() Medal Winners when The Guild of Fine Food Retailers' had their awards dinner for the 2007 'Great Taste Awards' during the 'Speciality and Fine Food Show' in London this week. This coveted award goes to a handful of fine food products each year and it is a rare accolade for a milk drink to be included. The strawberry semi-skimmed milk drink is one of a range of four flavours produced by Trioni Ltd : a family farming business headed up by Laurence Harris and his wife Eira at Ffosyficer Farms, Abercych located in beautiful North Pembrokeshire. Trioni Ltd who also distribute fresh organic milk throughout Wales developed the milk drinks in 2003 as an alternative to the fizzy sugary drinks available in schools,It is a great drink for children as it contains no artificial colour or preservatives, is naturally high in calcium and is low in fat and added sugar. However the semi-skimmed milk drink , which is also available in chocolate, banana and cranberry and raspberry flavour, is fast gaining popularity with sportspeople young and old as a recovery drink. High profile consumers of Daioni include the Welsh National Rugby Team who regularly order quantities of the drink when they are training together at their base in Hensol as well as other top Welsh rugby clubs and Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur Football Clubs. There is a growing body of scientific evidence which suggests that milk can play an important role in post-exercise and rehydration. Researchers from Loughborough University's School of Sports and Exercise Sciences report that volunteers in a recent trial remained hydrated after drinking milk but remained dehydrated after drinking equivalent amounts of water or isotonic sports drinks. According to researchers : 'The results suggest that milk is more effective at replacing sweat losses and maintaining euhydration than plain water or a commercially available sports drink following exercise-induced dehydration by approximately two per cent of initial body mass'. Said Dan King,nutritionist to the Welsh Rugby Union: 'The players like Daioni for its refreshing taste and the knowledge that it is is made from the best Welsh organic milk. The different flavours and convenient 250ml size offer the flexibility to use on its own as a balanced drink for a stop gap in between training and as part of their post training nutrition'. The Daioni flavoured milk which is supplied to the WRU by Castell Howell Foods is now available throughout the UK in good food stores, cafes and restaurants. It is also available in Tesco and Morrisons and more recently in Coop stores throughout Wales. Recent developments have seen the drink go to Greece, Malta and Cyprus and as far afield as Australia where it is proving to be very popular. |
